May it be in form of online archives of their collections or a virtual tour through the premises – you can “visit” galleries without even leaving your home.

1. The State Hermitage Museum
Located in St. Petersburg, Russia, The State Hermitage Museum is the second-largest art museum in the world (following Louvre). The collection includes over 3 million works of art and artefacts. 2. Museo del Prado
In the heart of Madrid, Spain, you will find one of the finest collections of European and Spanish art, dating from the 12th to the mid 20th century. On the museum’s website you can take a closer look at Prado’s works of art and read their background stories.

It is worth mentioning that Museo del Prado, alongside with Reina Sofía Museum and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, form the Golden Triangle of Art. These two museums as well display extensive parts of their collections online. Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum has quite a broad range of artworks in terms of style and periods, whereas Reina Sofía Museum focuses mainly on the 20th century art.
