Class content :

Step into our live class and learn how to capture the refreshing essence of morning landscapes using watercolors. Discover the techniques that bring out the enchanting beauty of dawn scenes.
In this intensive class series, Maria will demonstrate and explain her approach to painting atmospheric pictures of nature. You'll learn how a combination of different watercolor methods and techniques allows to create a depth of space in the landscape and a mist effect.

Two days of a step-by-step painting demonstration is planned as well as two days with live feedback and Q&A sessions.

Course planning :

Painting session 1 : Monochrome landscape
Painting on wet, creating misty effect, the use of the tone for creating depth and volume
Q&A + feedback session 1 : the first class results’ discussion

Painting session 2 : Misty morning
Adding colors and atmosphere to the previously learned, mastering brush techniques for paintings loose trees and textures
Q&A + feedback session 2 : the second class results’ discussion

Materials

Maria will use these supplies for the class. You can replace them with materials of your
favorite brands.

Paper:
Arches: 100% cotton paper, cold pressed, 300 gsm (you can take any other paper with the
same characteristics, Torchon texture will also fit well for such plots), 2 sheets 38x28 cm for
paintings + paper for exercises and color tests

Watercolors:
- Aureolin, Sennelier 559
- Naples yellow reddish, Schminke 230
- Naples yellow, White nights 209
- Orange Sennelier, 641
- Rose madder lake, Sennelier 690
- Quinacridone magenta, Blockx 329
- French Ultramarine, Sennelier 314
- Green, White nights 725
- Phthalo green deep, Sennelier 807
- Indanthrene Blue, Sennelier 395
- Payne’s Grey, Sennelier
- Royal Blue, Sennelier 322
- Dioxazine purple , Sennelier 917

Brushes:
- Goat flat brush 3-4 cm or any wide flat natural brush for moistening the paper
- Round squirrel / squirrel mix / squirrel imitation brushes (6-10 mm fits well)
- Small (about 3-6 mm ) round synthetic brushes for details (mixed / imitation / natural
will do this job as well)
- Small chinese calligraphy brush (optional)

Other:
- Plastic waterproof board ( !!! Important)
- Cup of water
- Paper towels
- Maskingtape
- Pulverizer with small droplets(optional)
