Course description

The rainy night in the city is all about contrasts : shining lights and dark silhouettes of buildings, graphic lines of architectural elements and soft reflections on the wet streets. This class is about creating such an illuminated atmosphere.

With the teacher's guidance this complex work will be split into doable steps. You’ll see a demonstration of every step and will get the instructions for better process understanding. You also will have time to paint your own picture.

Please prepare a pencil drawing before the class.

Materials

Paper: 
Arches: 100% cotton paper, cold pressed, 300 gsm (you can take any other paper with the same characteristics), 38x26 cm

Watercolors:
- Rose madder lake, Sennelier 
- Neon pink, White nights
- Helio turquoise, Schmincke
- Indanthrene blue, Sennelier
- Neutral tint, Sennelier
- Paynes Grey, Sennelier
- Naples yellow, White nights
- Titanium white, Gouache, Linel

Brushes:
- Goat flat brush 3 cm or any wide flat natural brush for moistening the paper (optional)
- Round squirrel / squirrel mix / squirrel imitation brush (6-10 mm fits well)
- Small (about 3-6 mm ) round synthetic brush for details  (mixed / imitation / natural will do this job as well)
- Fine synthetic or natural brush about 1mm for tiny details
- 5 mm flat synthetic brush

Other:
- Plastic or another WATERPROOF board
- Cup of Water
- Paper Towels
- Masking Tape
- Paper Clips
- Pencil and Eraser
- Ruler
